Community garden blooms in Solon
      SOLON — This is the first year that the Solon Elementary School has held classes on gardening every Thursday after school and what a success it has been as the vegetable garden grew and grew producing everything from new potatoes, to carrots, a bed of zucchini, cabbage, cukes, string beans, beets and even a section on herbs and beautiful sunflowers.

Craft Fair seeking crafters
      PHILLIPS — The Phillips 8th Grade Class will be hosting a Craft Fair at the Phillips Elementary School on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 pm. Crafters interested in reserving a table are asked to call Sharon Dudley at 639-2421 or email her at sdudley@msad58.org.

AmeriCorps’ College Access at Carrabec
      NORTH ANSON — This August, Carrabec High School became one of six high schools to serve as a site for a new AmeriCorps program, the College Access Corps. The program is a partnership between Goodwill Industries of Northern New England and Maine Campus Compact. The AmeriCorps member will work with Carrabec students to help improve aspirations to and enrollment in higher education.
