NEW PORTLAND — Peter Watt, Australian author of historical fiction, has generously donated three autographed copies of his novels to the New Portland Community Library.

Often referred to as the “Australian Wilbur Smith,” Watt draws on his love of history when crafting his adventures, as well as on his varied and sundry life experiences, which range from police sergeant to soldier, articled clerk to prawn trawler deckhand, and private investigator to real estate salesman.

These novels, “The Stone Dragon,” “The Silent Frontier” and “The Frozen Circle,” are all large print editions.

The public is urged to drop by the library to check them out.
