Post season middle school tourney underway

NORTH FRANKLIN COUNTY — The end of season middle school soccer playoff tournament began this week.
In boy’s action on Tuesday, Oct. 13, Stratton (1-7) traveled to take on the Lakers (2-5-1).
The winner of that game will travel to top ranked Strong (6-2) on Thursday, Oct. 15 to see who plays in the championship games at Mt. Abram on this coming Saturday night.
In the two-three match-up, Kingfield boys (5-2-1) will host Phillips today, Oct. 14. These two squads have met twice and tied once in their second outing and the advantage went to Kingfield in their first match-up. The winner of this game advances to the championship game at MTA.

In girls’ action, Kingfield (7-1) was upset by a hard fighting Rangeley (6-2) team, but the Wildcats still remained the top seed after the loss. Kingfield will face the winner of the four-five match-up, who played on Tuesday, Oct. 13. That game featured Stratton (3-5) who hosted Phillips (1-7) in a 3:30 start. Kingfield or the winner of Stratton or Phillips will advance to the championship game on this Saturday.
The Lady Lakers (6-2) as the second seed will host Strong (3-5) on Wednesday, Oct. 14. The winner of this contest will get an invite to the championship game under the lights at Mt. Abram.
