RANGELEY — Quilters traveling from all over the United States will converge on the Country Club Inn the final week of October to enjoy “Quilt Camp 2009.” Traditional quilt makers as well as those with artistic creative styles will surely find lots of challenge and loads of fun in either the two-night or three-night quilt camp sessions, organizers for the event say.
According to a spokesperson for the event, quilt camp provides fast-paced instruction, undisturbed quilting and socializing, delicious gourmet meals and frequent yummy snacks, enjoyment of the breathtaking view of mountains and lakes, and cozy relaxation around the crackling fireplace following the massage of your choice.
Internationally recognized quilt show judge and instructor, Deb Tucker of Cogan Station, Pa., is owner of Studio 180 Designs, has a background in architectural studies and a degree in education. Tucker has taught quilting throughout North America and serves on the staff at the Vermont Quilt Festival and the Fletcher Farm School for the Arts & Crafts.
“If fun is part of the equation, learning will be the end result!” Tucker says.
Circles, Geese, and Stars headline this year’s learning opportunities. Drunkard’s Path & Beyond offers construction tips for the ever-challenging circles and curved piecing units. Organizers promise that each student’s finished quilt will be truly “one of a kind.”
Carol and Dan Perkins, owners of Threads Galore Quilt Shop, note that they are pleased to sponsor Deb Tucker’s ninth year at Fall Quilt Camp 2009 and look forward to welcoming new and returning campers to this annual autumn event.
