Roadrunners hit the road in post
      WESTERN MAINE — The post season high school soccer season is before us with both the girls’ and boys’ Mt. Abram teams making playoff contention. Both teams however are stuck in tough competition brackets. The Lady Roadrunners finished their season with a final Heal Point standing of sixth place and a 6-7-1 record.

      SALEM — The Western Mountain Youth Soccer league was busy wrapping up their season over the weekend with playoff games on Sunday and the Championship game scheduled for Monday night under the lights at Mt. Abram High School.

Lady Lakers make the cut
      RANGELEY -– With nine teams in Western D boys’ soccer, the Lakers finished sixth with a 2-7- 3 record which withdrew them from any post season contention. Five teams are playing in the playoffs with Richmond leading the pack with an 11-2-0 record. Seven teams compete in the ladies’ Western D which sends the top four to the post season.

     Carrabassett Valley resident Peter Gorman and his brother, Jim, with an 800 pound bull moose bagged during a recent moose hunt near Patten.

Another big one
     Bryan White (right), of Kingfield, shot his first moose on Wednesday, Oct. 14 while hunting with his father, Bruce White. The moose weighed in at 820 pounds and had 15 points.
