FARMINGTON -— University of Maine at Farmington will feature a performance of “As Maine Grows,” presented by The Theater at Monmouth’s David Greenham and Dennis Price, at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 4, in Lincoln Auditorium, UMF Roberts Learning Center.

“As Maine Grows” is a 30-minute theatrical thriller that humorously explores growth and development in Maine -—including the topics: education, health care, the environment, transportation, jobs and sprawl. The performance will encourage the audience to think about how history, customs and attitudes influence the way we think about change and how we balance individual preferences with the common good.

The creative team of Greenham and Price also presented the 2006 award-winning play “Taxing Maine.” This theatrical piece explored what taxes mean for Maine communities, the state government, the Maine landscape and Mainers’ wallets.

The performance of “As Maine Grows” is free and open to the public and will be followed by a discussion of the issues. This event is sponsored by the UMF Sustainable Campus Coalition and the Maine Humanities Council.
