Phyllis Ladd Brackley
STRONG -- Phyllis Ladd Brackley, 87, of Strong died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 at Sandy River Health Care and Rehab Center in Farmington.
She was born Dec. 20, 1921 in Strong, the daughter of Carroll W. and Gladys (Johnson) Ladd. She was educated in the schools of Strong and a graduate of Strong High School. Phyllis married Lewis Brackley Nov. 12, 1938 in Strong. He died Feb. 17, 2001. She worked for Strong Wood Turning, Livermore Falls Shoe and later worked for Forster Mfg. Co. until she retired in 1970.
She was a member of Aurora Grange #202, State and National Grange and Junior Dept. in State Grange for 12 years; she was also a member of Phythan Sisters of Cleopatra Temple #90 of Strong, member of the Strong Senior Citizens, the Strong Historical Society and member of the Strong United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
She enjoyed decorating cakes, crocheting, sewing and knitting, she was also a professional fly tier for many years.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Norma and her husband, Etney, Campbell of Phillips; three grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Richard Allen; and a daughter, Linda Lou; two brothers, Roger Ladd and Virgil Ladd.
Visitation hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Strong United Methodist Church in Strong with funeral service following at 1 p.m. with Rev. Gary Hudley officiating.
Interment will be in the Strong Village Cemetery.
