MTA boys, girls eliminated in first round
Soccer tourney update
      MAINE — Both the Mt. Abram girls’ and boys’ teams were eliminated from any further post season contention last week after a good season in the Mountain Valley Conference. The boys, after much debate, traveled to Wiscasset on Thursday and lost 3-0.

Any-Deer permit swap allowable
      AUGUSTA — With hunting seasons underway in Maine, the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife wants hunters to be aware that some swapping of deer permits is allowed. An Any-Deer, Landowner or Superpack deer permit winner may swap their permit with another same-type permit winner in order to switch hunting districts.

Annual ski and snowboard sale Saturday
      FARMINGTON — On Saturday, Nov. 7, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. the Farmington Ski Club will be hosting its 27th annual ski sale at Mt. Blue High School in Farmington, Maine. The club expects to have over 2,500 items including downhill and cross-country skis and boots, snowboards, poles, helmets, clothing and other winter recreation items.
