FARMINGTON — Kick off the holiday season by attending this year’s Titcomb Mountain Holiday Auction on Friday evening, Dec. 4, at the Granary Restaurant Function Room.

The auction, which is sponsored by the Farmington Ski Club and the Titcomb Mountain Ski Education Foundation is in its 14th year and continues to bring the community together in a fun evening for a great cause. This year’s auction will feature a variety of items from area businesses as well as community members. Highlights include skis, downhill and nordic ski passes, an individual ski membership to Titcomb Mountain, furniture, handcrafted items, art, baked goods, and much more.

One very special aspect to this year’s auction is a raffle that will include a nostalgic and original pastel painting named “The Warming Hut” courtesy of local artisan Mardy Bogar, a W.A. Mitchell handcrafted cherry and maple end table courtesy of Heirlooms of Tomorrow, Sugarwood Gallery and the Law Offices of Ron Aseltine, and a hand-woven Pile Turkish Rug courtesy of Cindy and Dave Hall. The tickets are $5 each. To purchase one in advance, call Titcomb Mountain at 778- 9031. Tickets will also be available at the auction event. To get a glimpse of some of the items to be auctioned this year, visit the Calico Patch storefront on Broadway as a window display will be on hand for view the week before the auction.

The silent auction bidding will begin at 6 p.m. at the Granary Restaurant. The live auction will start at 7 p.m. For those interested in eating dinner as well, a special holiday auction menu will be available; ask to be seated upstairs in the function room between 5 and 6:30 p.m. Call The Granary at 779-0710 for dinner reservations.

“Come early and participate in what promises to be a great evening in support of your local mountain!” a spokesperson said.
