Rangeley Public Library

RANGELEY — Did you know that the Rangeley “Public” Library is actually owned by the private, nonprofit Rangeley Library Association?

The town of Rangeley and the plantations of Dallas, Rangeley and Sandy River contribute generously to the library. Their combined support covers approximately half of the library’s operating budget.

The remaining half of the budget comes from fundraising events and the Annual Fund Drive. Proceeds from these fundraisers don’t just cover the “extras.” Rather, they fuel the library’s day-to-day operations, such as buying books, funding programs, providing staffing, and maintaining and operating the building.

It’s not too late to send in tax-deductible donations to the Rangeley Public Library.

“Your generous gift insures the library’s future. It wouldn’t be here without your support,” a spokesperson said.
