Crash sends four to hospital
JAY — Four people were taken to the hospital Monday. Nov. 23, after a car crossed over the centerline on Crash Road and struck a van head-on, police Chief Larry White Sr. said.
Louise Tardif, 63, of Jay was traveling east on the road at about 12:15 p.m. when the 2002 Toyota Camry she was driving crossed into the westbound lane, hitting a 2004 Dodge Caravan driven by Heidi Tolman, 41, of New Portland, White said in a news release.
Tardif, Tolman and her two passengers, her 9-monthold child and Laurie Agren, 47, also of New Portland, were taken by ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, White said. The three adults complained of chest and neck pain and the child did not appear to have any injuries.
Jay firefighters, along with medics from three NorthStar ambulances, assisted police at the scene, he said.
Both vehicles are believed to be a total loss. Detective Richard Caton IV is investigating to determine what happened, White said.
