     AUBURN —- Clayton John Varney, 87, of Phillips died peacefully at the Hospice House on Nov. 26, 2009. His health had deteriorated after a stroke suffered four months prior to his death. He was born Feb. 26, 1922, in Skowhegan, to Everett Earle and Grace R. (Stuart) Varney.

Dianne was born, on May 17, 1944, in Skowhegan, daughter of the late John and Rosabelle (Merry) Carter. She graduated from Wilton Academy’s class of 1962 and was also a graduate of the Barnard Cosmetology School in Lewiston.
