1944-2009 — She and her husband enjoyed dancing at Happy Horseshoe

NORTH NEW PORTLAND — On Nov. 27, 2009, Dianne L. (Carter) Pease passed away in the family home in North New Portland.

Dianne was born, on May 17, 1944, in Skowhegan, daughter of the late John and Rosabelle (Merry) Carter. She graduated from Wilton Academy’s class of 1962 and was also a graduate of the Barnard Cosmetology School in Lewiston.

On July 3, 1975, she married Ezra D. Pease of North New Portland. Dianne was a homemaker and was very involved with the town’s Historical Society especially during the recent Bicentennial. She was a trustee with the New Portland Water Company and at every election in town, she was present in her position as ballot clerk.

Ezra and Dianne enjoyed dancing at the Happy Horseshoe and they danced every dance in September at the Fair Dance.

She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Carley Pomerleau, who passed away in 2005.

Dianne is survived by her husband, Ezra D. Pease of North New Portland; her daughter, Dianna Pomerleau and her husband, Craig, of Jay; her son, Rodney Schanck and his wife, Rhonda, of Wilton; four grandchildren, Kurstin Pomerleau, Jordan, Jamison and Olivia Schanck; her sister, Joan Wheeler, of Chesterville; her brother, Alton Carter and his wife, Kathy, of Industry; also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Respecting Dianne’s wishes, there was no formal service. A family burial will be held in the spring.
