LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Thanks for supporting the fundraiser

To the editor:

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all those who came out to support Alzheimer’s of Maine and Franklin Home Health Care on Friday night. Each ticket holder was subjected to almost two hours of “me” ... sometimes a funny “Kazza,” and sometimes, an excruciatingly boneheaded “Karen.” (I feel an “Observations” column coming on after that horrendous experience! Watch out!)

Thanks also to Nora West, Kaye Newell and Steven Pease, for their generous donations for the auction. As well, I’d like to express my gratitude to Bill and Holly Higgins, of Nostalgia Tavern, for hosting the event. Some guy named Chase deserves a round of applause for his exceptional (and impromptu) auctioneering skills during intermission. Thanks to Ruth (Mammy) Dolley for the quilt we raffled off (which was won by the Irregular’s own Laura “Scoop” Dunham) and thanks also, Mam, for still loving me, even after I no-doubt embarrassed the heck out of you. (You DO still love me, right? Right???)

Steven, Guy, Josie and Eli...well. It’s over. Maybe I’ll be fit to live with, now. Maybe...

And thanks to Jack Ramsay and his lovely wife, Alison of Brisbane, Australia. If it wasn’t for Jack, I never would have climbed up on that stage, and we never would have collectively raised SEVENTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS for these two worthy causes. So, really, this all came about because of my pal, Jack.

He is sooooo going to pay for this! Ayuh.
