Lady Roadrunners fall to alumni
SALEM -– Last Friday Mt. Abram hosted their alumni game which featured a few old faces and a preview of the varsity teams.
On the girls’ side, it was a low scoring game, but the alumni teams edged the varsity 27-20. So low in scoring that the first quarter ended with the varsity squad in the lead 2-1.
The alumni came back in the second and outscored the Lady Roadrunners 8-4 with four points added from center Brittany York. York was the game high scorer with 11 points on the night.
Trailing 9-6 to start the third, Mykayla Luce’s four points added needed numbers for the varsity team who outscored the alumni 11-9. At the buzzer to end the third, the varsity trailed by just one point.
York’s six-point final quarter was enough to seal the game for the alumni. For the alumni team, Lani Roy was the second highest scorer with five points followed by Kenni Norton and Lynn Plog with three apiece.
For the Roadrunners, Luce and Miranda Smith led their team is scoring with four points each. Tori Beane and Sam Werzanski each put three points on the board.
