For wind power in Highland Plantation

To the editor:

Wind power is the cleanest, most practical source of power. There were wind powered clipper ships for transportation and windmills used to pump water so the population of Holland could survive.

I have lived in Highland for 72 years. After attending a recent meeting in Highland, I wish to strongly oppose out-of-town folks encroaching on the Highland residents’ rights.

I have listened to many comments and opinions, especially from people in Lexington. I own about 85 acres of land in Lexington, and have been thinking that I may donate it to wind power. I feel there are sufficient wind sources from the Back Road and Spruce Pond Road to operate one or more satisfactorily.

Thank you for the time.
