Helping homeless pets


Grouped around items they helped collect for the Franklin County Animal Shelter this holiday season are Stratton Elementary School students (back row, left to right) Kristie Fortenbacker, Tanager Karchenes, Faith Gould, Jed Stevens, (front) Faith Gould, Hunter Berry, Emma Berube, Noah French and Jocelyn Stevens. In the spirit of giving, the students collected over 100 pounds of cat food, 25 pounds of cat litter, two cat carriers, 75 pounds of dog food, 15 pounds of dog bones, bleach, paper towels, trash bags, 75 dog and cat toys, blankets, as well as 12 student-made pet beds, which will all be delivered to the animal shelter.
