MSAD #58 Skiing Wrap

Alpine

FARMINGTON — The Lady Roadrunner alpine ski team went to Titcomb for a slalom event featuring a total of seven teams last Wednesday, Jan. 13. Mt. Abram ended the day finishing third as a team amongst some very good competition. Emily Luce put down a third place first run and a second place final for the combined second place finish for MTA.

Erin Luce finished in the top-20 with an 18th place finish followed by Jillian Withee 23rd.

Siri Norris finished off the team scoring for the Lady Roadrunners.

On Jan. 14 the ladies ski team headed to Saddleback where Erin Luce grabbed the silver and Withee took the bronze. Norris placed 11th that afternoon while Emily Luce had a tough break in her first run getting disqualified.

In middle school alpine racing, the MSAD #58 ski team headed to Mt. Abram for the Friday Night Race Series for a giant slalom. On the girls’ end, Lexi Bullen put down two solid runs and grabbed the top podium spot that day. On the guys’ end, Mitchell Gray had the best finish for the boys finishing 6th.

Aimie Sala finished top 10 with an 8th place performance. Also top-10 skiing was Henry Kearing who finished 7th and Ethan Wilson 10th.

Nordic

FARMINGTON — The Mt. Abram Nordic team headed to Titcomb last Wednesday for the Mt. Blue Mass Start.

With 51 competitors in the boys’ field, Jake Carlton had a top-20 race finishing 20th. Right behind him was teammate Devin Littlefield. Jay Chenard and Nick Carlton also skied nicely for a 25th and 26th place finish.

On the girls’ end, Annah Houston was the top MTA Nordic finisher placing 13th out of 50 racers. Lady Roadrunner Lizzie Chenard was right behind her finishing 14th. Holly Thomas also skied well for MTA with a 18th place performance.
