Lions Club beginning in Phillips, Strong area

STRATTON -– The Eustis Lions Club is sponsoring a new branch club for the Phillips/Strong area.

Club members invite the public to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at 6:30 p.m. at the Camden National Bank in Phillips.

Janet White and Marge McHugh are hoping to see people from those two communities and the surrounding area. All are welcome.

“In this time of need for help within our communities it is a wonderful feeling to be able to help just a little. Volunteers are always needed and we have a wonderful family program. What a great way to teach the kids to be part of their community and help give to folks less fortunate,” Marge McHugh, Lions Club member, said.

The Lions Club is the largest service club in the world. There are Lions clubs in 205 countries. Lions are known for the charitable works with the blind, Special Olympics and community services. In 1927 Helen Keller challenged the Lions to be the Knights of the Blind and they have been fighting eye disease ever since.

If you have any question or to RSVP for attendance count (for snacks!), call Lion Marge McHugh at 491- 1730 or Lion Janet White at 639-2817.
