Literacy volunteers to show ‘Precious’

SKOWHEGAN -– Literacy Volunteers of Franklin & Somerset Counties will show the movie “Precious” at the Strand Cinema, Feb. 7 at 2 p.m.

All tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door. According to organizers, this is a powerful movie based on the book “Push” by Sapphire. It stars Gabourey Sidibe, Mariah Carey and Mo’Nigue, who just won a Gold Globe Award for this role as best supporting actress.
