Lincoln Day dinner in Strong
      STRONG — The Lincoln Day Dinner Celebration will be held at the Forster Memorial Building on Feb. 12 hosted by the Franklin County Republicans.       FARMINGTON — On Saturday, Feb. 13, the Franklin County Children’s Task Force will host the 28th annual Children’s Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the University of Maine at Farmington Olsen Student Center. According to organizers, the festival offers a day of fun and entertainment for families and is free of charge.

Man injured after truck strikes tree that pierces passenger compartment
      MADRID TOWNSHIP —- A Wilton man was seriously injured Friday, Jan. 29 when a 20-foot log crashed into the passenger compartment of the truck he was driving on Route 4. Edgar Adams, 46, sustained blunt-force trauma to the lower half of his body, but he was able to get out of his truck and crawl into a ditch when it caught fire, Maine State Police Trooper Randy Keaten said.

Valentines Fair in Rangeley
      RANGELEY — The Ladies American Legion Auxiliary will host a Valentines Fair Saturday, Feb. 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2378 Main Street, in the rear. Lunch will be available. Wind energy debate on tap Feb. 4, 18
      DIXFIELD -– The Western Maine Economic Development Council, River Valley Growth Council, Greater Franklin Development Corporation and the Western Mountains Alliance are co-hosting a wind energy debate on Thursday, Feb. 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room of Dirigo High School. Library announces temporary hours
      STRATTON — According to Wendy Boyle, Stratton Librarian, the Stratton Public Library will be operating under new reduced hours when she takes a leave of absence next month; this, however, is only temporary. Starting Feb. 16, the library will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. These hours will be in effect for about six weeks.
