Shrubs and fruit tree sale underway

FARMINGTON — Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District’s annual shrub sale plans are in full-swing, and our complete brochure is available through our Web site: www.franklincswcd.org.

Early bird orders are due by March 1, so check out availability quickly so that you can reserve your plants. They arrive in early May, just in time to take advantage of spring planting.

Offerings this year include apple, pear, plum and peach trees; along with high bush blueberries, raspberries, & blackberries; asparagus, wild ginger, lemon grass, English lavender, bee balm, and herbs. There are also Spirea, Daphne, Potentilla, Daphne, Weigela; 19 different lilacs, including blue, yellow, pink, white and purple; Azaleas & Rhododendrons; coneflowers, astilbe, primrose, spiderwort, painted daisies, bleeding hearts, and much, much more.

Pick up is scheduled at FCSWCD from 12:30 to 5 p.m. on Friday, May 7 and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 8.

Orders are now being taken for rain barrels and compost bins as well. They’re a great way to do your part to help preserve our environment.
