Truck damages Ayotte’s gas pump canopy

WESTERN MOUNTAINS — Following are summaries of some of the local law enforcement agencies’ and emergency services’ activities last week.

Carrabassett Valley Police

The Carrabassett Valley Police Department had a busy two weeks responding to some 460 calls for service. Among the calls, Cpl. Rod Small investigated damage to the overhead lighting at Ayotte’s Country Store after a tractor trailer tried to drive under the canopy above the gas pumps; the incident resulted in about $1,000 in damage.

Small also responded to five motor vehicle accidents, investigated two theft complaints, two theft of services, two harassment complaints, responded to a medical emergency and a 911 hang-up.

Officer Matt Hunt responded to a loud party complaint, investigated a motor vehicle accident and charged a Falmouth man with Operating Under the Influence.

Officer Todd Lamb responded to a medical emergency, searched for a missing child, responded to two dog complaints, a investigated a 911 hang-up, a report of a motor vehicle being driven erratically and charged a Freeport woman with Operating under the Influence.

Officer Kelly Leet responded to four loud party complaints, a dog complaint, assisted two motorists who were off the road, investigated two disorderly conduct complaints and a report of suspicious activity.

Officer Tom Cummings responded to four loud party complaints, investigated a car/snowmobile accident, a theft complaint, a complaint of speeding snowmobiles and erratic vehicle operation complaint.

Lt. Randy Walker responded to two disorderly intoxicated adult complaints, investigated a vandalism complaint, responded to a 911 hang-up and assisted disabled motorists.

Officer Reed Bond responded to a medical emergency and a dog complaint.

Police Chief Scott Nichols arrested a local man on a warrant.

Officers also responded to 26 burglary alarms, 27 unlock complaints, eight citizen assists, two property checks, 20 low temperature alarms, three parking complaints and 13 fire alarms.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Department

Franklin County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers had a busy week sending members of the Sheriff Department to many locations in Franklin County.

On Jan. 22 deputies responded to a noise complaint on Lake Avenue in Farmington, a chimney fire on Bridge Street in Phillips, issued a summons on Route 27 in New Vineyard, gave out a written warning on Route 27 in New Vineyard, a written warning on Route 27 in Kingfield, a written warning on Route 4 in Strong, two written warnings on Route 4 in Sandy River Plantation, two written warnings on Route 4 in Phillips, served papers on the West Kingfield Road in Kingfield, investigated a traffic offense on the Kingfield Road in Kingfield, on Main Street in Kingfield on Route 27 in Carrabassett Valley, gave out a defect card on Main Street in Rangeley and investigated two traffic offenses on Main Street in Stratton.

On Jan. 23 deputies responded to a fire alarm on the Fontaine Road in Stratton, gave out a written warning on Route 4 in Strong, two written warnings on Route 4 in Madrid, two written warnings on Main Street in Rangeley, gave out a defect card on Main Street in Kingfield, two written warnings on Route 27 in Carrabassett Valley, a written warning on Route 4 in Phillips, assisted another agency on High Street in New Vineyard, gave out a defect card on Route 4 in Madrid, responded to a chimney fire on the Old South Strong Road in New Vineyard, gave out a written warning on Route 4 in Sandy River Plantation, issued a defect card on Route 4 in Letter E Township, issued a summons on Route 4 in Letter E Township, gave out a defect card on Route 4 in Sandy River Plantation, issued a summons on Route 4 in Sandy River Plantation, investigated three traffic offenses on Route 4 in Avon, assisted another agency on Main Street in Strong and investigated a traffic offense on the Lexington Road in Kingfield.

On Jan. 24 deputies responded to subjects fighting on Main Street in Rangeley, traffic offenses on Depot Street and Main Street in Kingfield, gave out five written warnings on Route 27 in New Vineyard, five written warnings on Route 4 in Avon, a written warning on Route 4 in Phillips, a written warning on Route 4 in Strong, investigated a complaint of criminal mischief on the Parlin Hill Road in New Vineyard, responded to a tenant/landlord dispute on the Dodge Pond Road in Rangeley, investigated a harassment complaint on the Mt. Blue Road in Avon, a traffic offense on Route 27 in New Vineyard and responded to a car accident on Route 4 n Avon.

On Jan. 25 deputies provided an escort on the Pillsbury Road in Strong.

On Jan. 26 deputies investigated a motor vehicle accident on Route 27 in New Vineyard, gave out a defect card on Main Street in Strong, served papers on King’s Ridge in Kingfield and investigated a traffic offense on Route 27 in New Vineyard.

On Jan. 27 deputies investigated a complaint of threatening on the Hare Road in Avon, responded to 16 traffic offenses on Route 2 in New Sharon and issued two written warnings on Route 2 in New Sharon.

On Jan. 28 deputies responded to a structure fire on the Lane Road in New Sharon and responded to an alarm on School Street in Farmington.

Fire Departments/Ambulance Service NorthStar Ambulance service

NorthStar Ambulance service personal had a busy week responding to some 129 calls, according to general manager Mike Senecal.

Calls included one in Avon, eight in Carrabassett Valley, 12 in Dallas Plantation, 10 in the Farmington Center, 37 in the town of Farmington, two in Highland Plantation, 13 in Industry, six in Jay, one in Kingfield, seven in Lewiston, eight in Livermore, one in Livermore Falls, three in Madrid, two in New Portland, two in New Sharon, one in Oquossoc, two in Phillips, two in Rangeley, eight in Sandy River Plantation, one in Stratton, five in Strong, one in Vienna, one in Weld and 10 in Wilton.
