RANGELEY — The Rangeley Lady Lakers fell short 43-32 in their bid to topple the division-leading Richmond Lady Bobcats at home on Friday, Jan. 29.

A full house packed the Rangeley Lakes Region Community School on “Senior Night.” The Lady Lakers (10-6) have been on a roll with a six-game win-streak and ranked fourth in the latest MPA Heal standings.

Rangeley played the taller Lady Bobcats tough the first half and led the visitors by three at the break, 23- 20.

The Lady Lakers struggled in the second half as they tried to generate an offense but were outscored by Richmond 23-9 in the final two quarters. Chantal Carrier led Rangeley scorers with 13 points while hauling down eight rebounds and Allie Hammond added nine points for the Lakers.

Jamie Plummer scored 14 points to pace the Lady Bobcats followed by Megan DeRaps who netted 11 points.

Rangeley’s last regular season basketball game (boys and girls) is Wednesday, Feb. 3 at home against Pine Tree Academy (the game was postponed on Thursday due to inclement weather).
