RANGELEY — Slalom racers from Mt. Abram, MCI, Cony, Mtn. Valley, Maranacook, Waterville and Rangeley congregated at Saddleback for a high school ski meet last Tuesday, Feb. 9.

With 17 team points, the Mt. Abram Lady Roadrunners took the lead with finishers coming in second through fourth place and one eighth place. Rebekah Lallgren of MCI clearly had the hottest skis, finishing nearly two seconds ahead of the pack in both runs. Her combined time was 1:28.57.

MTA sophomore Erin Luce came up with a second place finish on her first run and third on her second run to finish with the combined time of 1:33.66 for the silver.

Emily Luce faced some hiccups in her first run which bumped her back to fifth, but a strong second run combined time of 1:34.51 earned a second place finish.

Right behind Luce was Jillian Withee who put down two consistent runs for a fourth place finish.

Lady Roadrunner Siri Norris was the fourth scorer on the day and came across with an eighth place finish.

Rangeley’s Emma Christiansen had a solid first run and was sitting in fourth. An unfortunate snag forced her to not finish the second run.

In boys’ racing action, Rangeley’s Nick Bridges was sitting third before he was disqualified on the second challenging run.

Phil Bergeron of Waterville won the boys’ race in a field of almost all Mtn. Valley racers.
