Shovelton to exhibit art NEW PORTLAND — The New Portland Community Library is now featuring a show of Geoffrey Shovelton’s whimsical pen and ink drawings, along with some amazing performance photos. An artist reception will be held Sunday, March 7 at 4 p.m. “Geoff has so many delightful stories to tell about his days of travel and song, and I do hope that you will come to meet him. Hope to see you and please spread the word!” Lolly Phoenix, a member of the library board said. Regular library hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 1 to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. To get to the library at 899 River Road in New Portland from Farmington, take Route 27 north toward Kingfield, then a right onto Route 146. Or from Kingfield, head south on Route 27 and take a left onto Route 146. Follow the river until you get to the village center, which includes the town office, fire station and library, just before the cement bridge that crosses the Carrabassett River.
