Let them sell junk bonds and leave Maine’s mountains alone
To the editor:
I wish the Western Maine Chapter of the Audubon Society could have support from the State organization, but the NRCM and state Audubon Society both support windsprawl.
One cannot help but wonder if deals were struck to prevent windsprawl in certain areas at the expense of support for other projects. I have been searching the Web and finding there are credible claims that CO2 is not reduced when windsprawl comes on line because the base plants are still operating in “spinning reserve.”
Windsprawl electricity is expensive some claim. Does Maine need that, for no air quality improvements? The “green credit” sales and auctions seem to be money schemes for Wall Street.
Let them sell junk bonds and leave Maine’s mountains alone.
Thank you.
