Polar Blast meets two major goals
STRATTON-EUSTIS — The Flagstaff Area Business Association recently declared that Polar Blast 2010 met two major goals: it provided visitors and locals activities to enjoy, participate in and celebrate; it also provided an opportunity for FABA and the Arnold Trail Snowmobile Club to generate funds.
The funds will be used to further FABA’s commitment to promote economic and cultural development in the Flagstaff-Eustis area, and they will help maintain and groom the snowmobile trails in the northwestern mountain of Maine.
FABA expressed its appreciation for all the sponsors —business donors as well as individual volunteers and donors— which helped make Polar Blast a success again this year. Donations were up this year; a complete list can be found on FABA’s Web site www.eustismaine.com under the Community News and Events section.
A complete list of Polar Blast events and winners can also be found on FABA’s Web site under that same section.
Anyone who has ideas for the next Polar Blast, are urged to join the members as they make plans. Send an email to eusitismaine@yahoo.com.
One idea that’s been suggested is having an ice-fishing tournament. FABA is asking anyone with ice-fishing photos to share them. Any photos of locals and/or visitors enjoying the area in all seasons are sought as well.
New FABA members include: Country Charm, Donna Pepin; Mountainside Real Estate, Faron Fahy and Jeff Kennedy; and WSKI-TV 17 Sugarloaf, Nadene McLeod.
FABA will have a booth at the State of Maine Sportsmen’s Show in Augusta April 2 to 4.
FABA meetings are scheduled for the last Tuesday of each month.
