As the Ski Turns
Billy Winn
(a.k.a. Bill the Cat) e-mailed to tell us that he has a new CD out. Featured on the new disc is Kingfield’s own John Winter
on the guitar, lead and rhythm, electric and acoustic. Songs include: “Bar Harbor,” “If I Ever Met Me,” and “Post-It Note to Nancy Pelosi, George Bush.” You can check out the new tunes on MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/billywinnmusic or go to the band’s website: www.billywinnmusic.com. Billy’s music is also available on i-Tunes and CD Baby.
Amber Mitchell Breguet, daughter of Tracy Gilmore and Phil Mitchell, will be back in the area for a visit. She’ll be bringing along her cute little boy, Myles and we guess she’ll probably have the adorable pug, Lucy Lu and husband, Brian with her too.
Congratulations go out to Emma Christensen of Rangeley who is the recipient of this year’s Maine Principal’s Award. We’ve heard that she’s a very deserving young lady.
The family winter carnival from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 12 at the Wilhelm Reich Museum’s Conference Center in Rangeley sounds like a lot of fun. There will be activities for everyone including telescopes so viewers can witness the shuttle pass overhead; they will have telescopes, but encourage your to bring yours. There will also be opportunities to purchase food or even to cook your own! And there will be kids’ activities, so be sure to stop by. For more info, call 864-3443.
Don’t forget there’s an American Red Cross blood drive at Mt. Abram High School today from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It’s always a good idea to make an appointment, but at this late date, just show up; they are always looking for more donors.
And speaking of things to not forget... this Sunday
Daylight Saving Time begins. So, remember to turn your clocks ahead one hour and enjoy that little extra sunshine on your way home from work.
