Iva Carlene Miller

1927-2010 — She had a great sense of humor

FARMINGTON — Iva Carlene (Davenport) Miller, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior after battling illness, March 13, 2010.

She was a Rangeley native born on the Davenport Farm on March 16, 1927. She was the daughter of Walter and Eva (Hinckley) Davenport. She worked at Taylor’s IGA for 26 years, and worked on the family farm. She also was a caregiver for her mother Eva for many years. She had a great sense of humor, and the highlight of her later years was when Ruthie came to visit at the farm, and they shared scriptures and tea, and all that know Ruthie will know why.

She was a member of the Rangeley Free Baptist Church and the Reed Mills Quilting Circle in Madrid. Her husband, Dale H. Miller USN Ret.; her parents Walter and Eva Davenport; three brothers, Walter “Skeet,” Richard and William; and three sisters, Elizabeth, Sarah and Arlene predeceased her.

Two sisters, June Plummer and Eleanor Guevremont, both of Rangeley; and nieces and nephews survive her.

Public graveside services will be held Saturday morning, May 22, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Rangeley. Following services a reception will be held at Parkside and Main on Main Street in Rangeley.

In lieu of flowers, remembrance gifts may be given to the Sandy River Center for Healthcare and Rehabilitation, 119 Livermore Falls Road, Farmington, Maine 04938.
