LEWISTON —- William Haines, 70, of 813 Sopers Mill Road, Auburn, died of natural causes March 16, 2010, at Central Maine Medical Center, with his family at his side.

He was born in Farmington, Sept. 27, 1939, the son of Donald and Hester (Anderson) Haines. He was married to his wife, Beverly of Auburn on Feb. 4, 1961, in Rangeley.

He spent 25 years working for the Auburn School Department, where he was loved by many.

He is survived by his six children, William Haines Jr. and Rhonda, of Auburn, Mike Haines and his wife, Jess, of Sabattus, Daniel Haines of Lewiston, James Haines and his wife, Vicki, of Bowdoin, Tim Haines of Auburn and Sarrah (Beverly) Naugler and husband, Skip, of Auburn; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many others that were like his own and their kids; many nieces, nephews, etc; his sister, Florence and John Pinkham, and brothers, Jerry Haines and wife, Janne, Sonny Haines and wife, Lisa and Robert Haines and wife, Kathy, all of Phillips.
