KINGFIELD — Erwin “Larry” and Lorraine Wilbur were married on March 13, 1943. Larry, a Kingfield native, was born not far from where the couple now lives. Lorraine was born in Dorchester, Mass.
The couple first built a camp on property on Upper Maple Street, now known as Cedar Street. Larry kept adding onto the camp; his last addition was a beautiful sunroom.
The couple retired and moved to Kingfield permanently in 1987. Larry retired from construction work and Lorraine was a homemaker, a position she still holds.
The couple has one son, Larry C. Wilbur, who lives nearby, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
They were longtime members of the Kingfield Sno- Wanderers Snowmobile Club but gave that up about three years ago. They now enjoy going to bingo on Saturday nights with all “their bingo buddies” and also enjoy taking care of their 40 deer, raccoons, turkeys and other wild animals which come daily for hand-peeled apples and other treats.
