CARRABASSETT VALLEY — The Western Maine Center for Children’s Playground Fund committee invites the community to a Karma Fair Trade Fundraiser at The Rack Restaurant, Sugarloaf access Road, Thursday, April 8 from 6 to 8 p.m.
“This will be a wonderful opportunity to get together to shop and help others, both in our community and around the globe,” says organizer Sarah Strunk.
Featured items available are Baskets of Africa (www.basketsofafrica.com), Mr. Ellie Pooh stationary (www.mrelliepooh.com) Kingdom Ventures bags (www.kingdom-ventures.com) and Nightlight jewelry (www.nightlightbangkok.com).
Other items include: fair trade jewelry, soapstone, collectibles, toys, ornaments, pottery, purses, soaps, candles, and much more... all unique and reasonably priced from $5 to $50.
“Every purchase brings hope to others… and supports our community childcare’s playground fund,” Strunk said.
Thursday is also Sugarloaf’s Free Movie Night in the Mountain Magic Room. Children, ages 4 to 11, can arrive at 5:45 p.m. for the evening’s festivities and “you can shop in peace!” Strunk noted.
Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted.
