Thanks for supporting the steel drum program

We are wrapping up another successful year of our student steel drum program despite massive budget cuts.

I would like to publicly thank everyone who stepped up to help keep this valuable program afloat. This school year we received generous support from Warren Cook, The Phillips C.A.R.E. Group, The Western Mountains Fund of The Maine Community Foundation, The Tranten Family and Associated Grocers, Jordan Lumber and The Kingfield POPS.

My students and I are extremely grateful to you all.

Hopefully the word is out that you can hear our student groups along with lots of other great live steel drum music at the New England Steel Drum Festival this Sunday, May 2 outside the Sugarloaf Inn starting at 10 a.m.

Our fundraising efforts continue as the budget cuts get bigger. At the festival we are selling raffle tickets and great t-shirts designed by Claudia Diller to benefit our kids.

I would like to extend a special invitation to anyone in our area who has played steel drums over the years. (know there are lots of you!) Please come and enjoy this amazing day.
Hope to see you Sunday,
Susan Sterling
