Childcare and after-school program openings available
CARRABASSETT VALLEY — The Western Maine Center for Children child care program (for ages eight weeks to five years old) recently announced that currently it has openings in its State of Maine licensed facility. Contracted days, as well as occasional child care for local children or area guests’ children can be reserved on a space available basis. Reservations are required. For more information call 237-3223 or email westernmainekids@ gmail.com.
Also, beginning April 26, the center started another session of after-school programs for kindergarten through fifth graders. This eight-week block of sessions will run to June 17 and include art lessons with Saskia Reinholt on Mondays, Field Games at the CVA field on Wednesdays, and Carrabassett Valley Kids Care Club activities on Thursday.
Monday and Thursday programs will take place in the Begin Family Room in the Carrabassett Valley Public Library and Community Center, which will also serve as the back-up for inclement weather on Wednesdays.
All students in MSAD #58 or those locally homeschooled are welcome to sign up. Informational flyers were sent home with Stratton and Kingfield elementary students before vacation. A snack is included and discounts are offered.
