Abram Roadrunners paced their way past Carrabec in an 11-1 mercy rule game that ended in five short innings. A five-run fourth inning put the game away for Mt. Abram (3-2).

Sophomore Josh Beedy took the hill for the Roadrunners allowing three hits while fanning six along the way.

For the Cobras (1-5), pitcher Dillon Dominski tripled followed by a pair of hits by Brendon Jones and Morgan Taylor.

For Mt. Abram, Tim Smith led the way with two runs, an in-the-park homerun and went 3- for-4 at the plate

Senior catcher Dylan Tisor also scored twice reaching on all four at-bats and went 2- for-3. Junior teammate Will London rallied with a pair of hits.

“We didn’t take Carrabec lightly going into it because of the week that we’ve had,” said MTA coach Ryan Palmer. “We have a big week next with Telstar, Mountain Valley and then Jay again.”

Currently Telstar and Jay are third and fifth in Heal Point standings. With a pair of losses last week, Mt. Abram is sitting in seventh place in the Heal Point brackets.

MTA fell to Dirigo 15-2 followed by another 12-2 loss in Livermore Falls last week.

“It was a rough week with our pitchers struggling. Dirigo and Livermore hit the ball. There is no question and my caps off to them,” Ryan explained.

“If we are going to have a hiccup, now is the time to do it, rather than the end of the year.” There were nine earned runs against Dirigo and Livermore had seven or eight earned runs last week. “It is certainly not the fault of the defense,” Ryan explained.

The Roadrunners traveled to Telstar (3-2) last Monday and will host Class B Mtn. Valley (4-1) today. They’ll conclude their week with a game in Jay (3-3) on Friday in the second match-up between the two clubs. MTA took the first game in this two-game series with a 13-0 shutout.
