According to the National Honor Society’s Web site, the NHS and National Junior Honor Society are the nation’s premier organizations established to recognize outstanding high school and middle level students.

These students have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service and character.

The inductees are Melinda Bubier, Joey Cousineau, Victoria Crockett, Brooke Gilchrist, Annah Houston, Molly McCafferty, Eric Mitchell, Clayre Plog, Taylor Puleo, Lacey Savage, Colleen Shields, Danielle Smith, Holly Thomas and Nick Vickers.

Since its inception in 1921, it is estimated today that more than one million students have participated in activities of the NHS and NJHS. NHS and NJHS chapters are found in all 50 states.

“Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service,” the organization states.
