Jeffrey Lagasse has been charged with killing Louise Brochu on June 8, 2007.AUGUSTA -- The man charged with murder in connection with the 2007 beating death of a New Portland woman has pled guilty to the charge in Somerset County Superior Court, wrote Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland in a news release Wednesday, May 26.Louise Brochu's body was found at her home and business along Route 27 in New Portland on June 8, 2007.

Jeffrey Lagasse, who was indicted by a grand jury last September, entered his plea Wednesday morning. He is charged with killing Louise Brochu, 50, whose body was found at her home and business along Route 27 on June 8, 2007.

Lagasse will be sentenced on June 11, McCausland said.
