Let the superintendent do his job
Congratulations Phillips selectmen for deciding to do nothing in response to Alan Morse’s allegation that he was “threatened with being banned from the schools if he continued talking to people.”
What he didn’t say was that he was going from school to school and teacher to teacher interviewing them on how best to manage MSAD #58. MSAD #58 already has a manager, Superintendent Quenten Clark, who has managed to take a second rate rural school system and build it into one that is nationally recognized for educational excellence.
Mr. Morse is creating a major distraction and undermining the authority of our superintendent. This is a time when we need to give that superintendent the support and respect he has earned. Mr. Clarke has proved that he does know what he is doing.
Mr. Morse, rather than attempting to micro manage our school district, needs to step back and let the superintendent do his job.
As to Mr. Morse’s addressing his “issue” to the Phillips board of selectmen, I applaud their decision to treat it with the action it deserves. Further, I would hope that their “concerns” would be with Mr. Morse and not with Superintendent Clark.
