Bell ringers to play Good Shepherd
The Pine Tree Bell Ringers will be in Rangeley at the Church of the Good Shepherd June 5.
RANGELEY — The Pine Tree Academy Bell Ringers will be in concert Saturday, June 5, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Main Street.
This group of bell ringers, from Freeport, plays five octaves of English handbells (61 bells) and five octaves of chimes (61 chimes). The 11 young musicians in the group are students in grades 7 through 12.
The group has performed throughout the U.S., Canada, Bermuda and Iceland, as well as many countries in South America and Europe. Its venues have included the Maine State Capitol, the Governor’s Mansion, the steps of the U.S. Capitol, the U.S. Senate Rotunda, and numerous other locales.
The group’s director is Doris Krueger, who received her MM in choral conduction from the University of Maine, has taught at the Pine Tree Academy and Atlantic Union College.
