MTA ball teams make it to post season

By David Hart Irregular Staff

SALEM –- The Mt. Abram boys’ and girls’ baseball and softball teams finished their regular season with home games against Telstar last Friday. Due to an early holiday deadline for the Irregular, the results, which may lead to new spots in the Western C playoff brackets, were unavailable.

On May 10, the MTA baseball team defeated Telstar 1-0.

The Lady Roadrunners had their challenges facing an undefeated 13-0 Telstar team and were upended by Telstar in their last MVC match-up in a 9-0 shutout loss.

It appears the Ladies will play Jay in the quarterfinals action on June 10. The home field has yet to be determined. The winner of the 4-5 match-up usually has to then deal with the number one seed.

Depending on the Heal Points and the game results last Friday, the boys will play either Wiscasset in the 4- 5 match-up or Livermore Falls on June 10. Home field has not been determined.

Last week the girls defeated Carrabec 7-4 and had their way with Mt. Valley 19-6.

The boys defeated Carrabec 9-2, but a 7-3 fall to Mt. Valley hurt them in Heal Points.
