Zipline and scenic lift rides come to Sugarloaf

New summer offerings to begin operation in late July and early August

CARRABASSETT VALLEY -– This summer, guests at Sugarloaf will be able to experience the mountain’s spectacular views and unique natural environment from two new perspectives, with Zipline tours and scenic lift rides scheduled to begin late July and early August.

Zipline courses will be installed in June and July and will take guests on a high speed adventure over the Rookie River, traversing the path of the historic Sugarloaf Gondola. Riders will be suspended in the air by a secure harness, and enjoy a spectacular, never-before-seen perspective of Sugarloaf in the summer. Zipline rides are scheduled to begin on Saturday, Aug. 7, will operate every Saturday throughout the summer and fall, and will continue throughout the ski season.

Zipline tours are currently operational at a number of Boyne operated resorts, including Big Sky in Montana and Boyne Mountain in Michigan. Boyne Resorts is the parent company of Sugarloaf.

Sugarloaf will also open up its SuperQuad chairlift for scenic lift rides later this summer, offering guests the chance to take in spectacular views of the surrounding mountains throughout the summer and fall. Guests will be able to ride the lift up, walk around and explore the mountain, and enjoy a comfortable ride back to the base.

Scenic lift rides are scheduled to begin on Saturday, July 24, and will run every Saturday through Oct. 16. Prices for lift rides will be $12 for ages 6 and up or just $10 for season pass holders. Children ages 5 and under ride for free.

Ticket prices and schedules for Zipline rides have yet to be announced. For more information on ziplines and lift rides, visit www.sugarloaf.com.
