Annual meeting on tap
RANGELEY — Friends of Mountain Aviation will hold its annual meeting June 27, at 11 a.m. at the Steve A. Bean Municipal Airport. On the agenda will be the election of officers, a review of the past year and plans for the coming year.
The club was busy in May with its annual visit to Mrs. Mitchell’s 5th Grade Class explaining and answering students’ questions before their free flight (Around the Patch) the next day.
As in years’ past, the students and club members built model airplanes that day in the classroom as well. Larry Koob, Fritz Dailey, Joann Bean, Linda Sikes and Keith Deschambeault helped this year.
This was the 8th year in a row, continuing a tradition that Steve and Joann Bean started to give the opportunity of flying to Rangeley students. One of the missions of the cub is to continue aviation education.
This year during the annual meeting there will be a static display of aircraft at the airport with the owners nearby to answer any questions about their aircraft. All are invited to attend. The cookout is offered by Steve Philbrick of Bald Mountain Camps for all to enjoy as members and pilots participate in Spot Landings and other Aviation Activities. For further information, contact Linda Sikes, Secretary 491-6566.
