The SR&RL Railroad rides again
The Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes Railroad is offering train rides leaving Sander’s Station on Bridge Street in Phillips at 11 a.m., noon, 1, 2 and 3 p.m. On some dates, a 4 p.m. train is scheduled as well. Additionally, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Old Home Days, Aug. 20 to 22, there is a Night Train at 8 and 9 p.m. All trains run subject to the availability of equipment and manpower.
The ride and walking tour take approximately 50 minutes.
Except for the Ghost Train (see below), 2010 fares are $5 per adult or child age 13 and older. The fare for children under age 13 is $1, under 6 years ride free.
Oct. 9 is the tentative date for the Ghost Train*, which will run from 6:30 to 9 p.m. In case of rain, the Ghost Train will run on Oct. 10 instead. The fares are $4 adult, $2 child under 13.
The SR&RL reserves the right to increase fares upon the return of steam operation.
The train dates are: June 6, 20, July 3, 4, 17, 18, 31, Aug. 1, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, Sept. 4, 5, 6, 18, 19, Oct. 2, 3, 9*, 10.
