Fly fishing conclave coming
RANGELEY — June 25 and 26, anglers from throughout Maine and New England will participate in the 8th annual Fly Fishing in Maine Conclave.
The conclave is open to the public and, according to organizers, will combine the opportunity to learn how to fly fish for those newcomers, meet some wonderful people and have a lot of fun. Friday night it will be held at the Rangeley Lake State Park. Saturday, the Rangeley Region Guides’ and Sportsmen’s Association’s clubhouse will serve as headquarters.
Among the events offered this year are a book reading by Bob Romano, author of “North of Easie,” Orvis rod and reel demos with Mike Holt of Fly Fishing Only, fly casting instruction with Ian Grierson of Saddleback Mountain Guide Service, a raffle and an auction to name a few highlights.
Pre-registration is urged. Visit the Web site www.flyfishinginmaine.org/conclave or send an email to info@flyfishinginmaine.com to register. There will be a special door prize drawn from the names of those who have pre-registered. More information about the event and/or FFIM can be found on the Web site www.flyfishinginmaine. org.
