KINGFIELD — Students at KES took part in two exercise programs during the months of May and June.
The “Sneaker Program” involved students taking home a paper sneaker and having their parents sign the back stating the child had exercised for 30 minutes and what activity they did.
Kindergarten student Hunter Durland returned 15 sneakers (representing 450 minutes); Second grader, Finn Towle returned 12 sneakers (360 minutes); and first grader, Anna Pease returned 12 (330 minutes).
“Walking to Katahdin” was the other activity. Students would walk around the soccer field and receive a wooden token for each lap. Finn Towle did 77 laps (equals 15.5 miles); Jonathan Jordan did 55 laps (11 miles) and Tyler Jensen did 43 laps (8.5 miles).
