Locals on UM dean’s list

Recently the University of Maine recognized six local students for achieving dean’s list honors for the Spring 2010 semester.

The locals and their hometowns are: Nathan Kinney, Phillips; Teegan Romano, Salem Twp.; Joseph Pelletier, Stratton; Charles Dexter, Strong; Gregory Dexter, Strong; and Wyatt Johnson, Strong.

Of the 2,654 total students who made the deans list, 2,268 are from Maine, 320 are from out of state, and 66 are from foreign countries.

UMF maintains a dean’s list each semester for those students completing a minimum of 12 credits in courses producing quality points. A student whose grade point average for the semester equals or exceeds 3.8 will be listed with high academic achievement. A student whose grade point average for the semester is less than 3.8 but equal to or greater than 3.5 will be listed with academic achievement.

Any incompletes must be satisfactorily completed before the student is honored with Dean’s List status. Academic achievement awarded at commencement is based on all course work taken at UMF.
