MSAD #58 School Board Agenda

SALEM — The MSAD #58 School Board recently released the agenda for its Thursday, July 29, meeting at the Mt. Abram High School, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Following the Call to Order and the welcome to guests, the public will be invited to comment.

Presentations will follow and include the Bunker and Savage facilities assessment, and then committee reports —sports, MSAD #74, and others

The Communications portion of the meeting will comprise voting procedures, MSMA superintendent search services, and legal advice regarding election of officers.

Discussion Items will include implications of forming AOS for impending superintendent search, and the plan for coming to a decision about future of schools. The former involves seeking parent involvement, seeking teacher involvement, seeking community involvement, factors for consideration: educational/developmental, social, economic, facilities suitability, etc., and the timeline.

The Superintendent’s Report follows and will include information on the nurses.

Routine Items are: future agenda items, Internet policy —September meeting, sports committee fundraising plans –August or September. Committee preferences will also be considered.

Under Action Items the board will be asked to consider approval of the minutes of July 15, 2010, and of a contract with MSAD #74 to share Special Ed Director.

The board will also be asked to consider setting starting/ finishing times for elementary and high school teachers.

The board will also get its first reading of policy updates on board officer vote and on the bus rules, as well as a proposal to change board meeting agenda order.

The board will then be asked to consider approval of the field trips list.

Executive Session, if needed, will follow, after which the meeting will adjourn.
