Michelle A. (Trask) Cain
FARMINGTON — Michelle A. (Trask) Cain, 50, of New Sharon, formerly of Wilton, passed peacefully on Thursday July 22, 2010 at the Sandy River Center for Health Care and Rehabilitation.
She was born on Dec. 1, 1959, in Farmington, the daughter of Carl and Judy (Butterfield) Trask. She grew up in Wilton and in 1977 was crowned the Apple Queen of Maine. She graduated from Mt. Blue High School in 1978 and went on to UMF, graduating in 1994. Her specialty was working with and helping children with special needs. She was an ed tech, substitute teacher and an immigrant teacher for SAD #9 for several years.
Michelle was blessed with a daughter Jessica and a son Colby. She also raised and nurtured a young boy, Robert Caldwell, loving him also as her son. Michelle loved helping children and all of the children loved her in return. She had a large loving heart for all and especially for her lifelong friend, Susie Balsamo Monk, who was like a sister to her. Michelle’s granddaughter, Isabella Cain was the bright shining light in her life, and Kaci and Kyle Presby were also very special gifts in her life.
Michelle was musical, and passed her talent on to her son. She enjoyed cooking and was always trying new recipes. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her children and family.
She is survived by her children, Colby Cain of Bangor and Jessica “Jess” Cain and her companion, Mahlon Presby Jr., of Avon; her mother, Judy Trask of Farmington; grandchildren, Isabella Cain, Kaci and Kyle Presby, all of Avon; aunt, Joline Frecker of Augusta; the father of her children, Michael Cain of Otisfield; and several cousins.
She was predeceased by her father; grandparents; and uncles.
Public memorial graveside services will be held Wednesday July 28, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Wilton.
