ATV club plans Rangeley ride for all
STRATTON-EUSTIS — The Flagstaff Area ATV Club is planning a ride Saturday, Aug. 7 and invites anyone looking for a good time sharing a sport many enjoy.
The ride will start from the Pines parking lot (next to the Eustis Post Office) at 9 a.m. sharp. The group will ride to Rangeley for lunch at the Parkside and Main restaurant, traveling via the new Tim Pass Loop. “Rain or shine, this ride is a go!” said a spokesperson for the club.
Everyone is invited; attendees don’t have to be club members.
The club’s regular second Sunday meeting will be changed to a brief trailside meeting during the ride on Saturday. There will be no formal meeting at the community center in August.
Another community effort will be Aug. 4 when members will treat several children from the recreation program to a trail ride and picnic. Last year’s ride was a big success. Club members believe it is important to give back to the community. The children will see what fun ATVing is and also see what responsible riding is all about, noted the spokesperson.
Saturday, Sept. 18 the club will host a landowner appreciation celebration with all members invited as well as landowners. This will take place at the Cathedral Pines Campground on site #2. The club’s famous “Pig Roaster,” Barry Crafts, will return.
Further news of a ride planned during foliage season to Tim Pond Camps will be announced in the future. This will be either a lunch or dinner ride with the date as yet to be determined.
The club would like to invite all interested parties to its Sept. 12 meeting at 10 a.m. at the Community Center in Stratton.
